Automatic numbering only seems available for traditional books where the paging is straightforward. I produce a centerfold booklet where page 1 is the right half of the first sheet, the last page is the left half of the same sheet, page 2 is the left side of the back, the next-to-last page is the right half , etc.
I have to number the pages myself, but AS AN AID to this I put non-printing empty squares in the right places on the Master Page. These squares show through to the layer where I put the actual numbers, and make it easy for me to place the numbers.

 PostScript import

A comment in the wiki suggests opening .ps files to convert them to scribus objects. I've tried this with some music scores, and the conversion loses so much information the results are unusable. Ghostview and Document Viewer [ubuntu] and Illustrator [XP] have no problems with the original files, so what's the issue here?

 Ghoscript?

by dickiefunk on: Jan 8 2009

I've just downloaded Ghostscript 8.63 and extracted it using Winzip to a folder on my desktop.
I couldn't find any installation files so I'm unsure what to do next?

What do I do now to be able to use Ghostscript and for Scribus to locate it?

Thanks

I'm having some trouble loading some of the templates. I keep getting the message unacceptable format. I changed the xml a bit to open them in the latest stable version of scribus but I loose a lot of the stuff thats in the template.

Can I also make one small suggestion and that is to create zip files of the templates with the image files.

I am unable to get a sensible print out of Scribus. If I print landscape the whole page is off-set down and to the right by about 2 inches!

My set up is:

Scribus 1.1.3.12
Ubuntu 9.04 - clean install nothing odd
hp Deskjet 940C

Thanks in advance

Ed
